Medway’s reputation in the production of acrylic signs is almost legendary. With our flame polishing techniques, our UV resistant and shatterproof signs are frequently mistaken for glass. Our high quality images last for years and years and retain vibrancy as if they were only made yesterday.
Our Product Specialists have been working with Local Authorities to develop a high quality sign that is considered to be ideal for use in high-rise housing blocks. The image is encapsulated within a UV resistant and shatterproof polycarbonate sandwich that is self-extinguishing. This use of modern substrates and encapsulating techniques has enabled Medway to introduce into the market a sign that is considered to be all but vandal proof.
Developing a vandal proof sign is only half the story. All signage for Local Authorities has to comply with the Disabilities Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) and subsequent legislation such as The Equality Act 2010. Medway has worked hard in ensuring that its design of specialist signage complies with current legislation.
However we did not stop there! Not only do the signs have to be clear and concise and easy for the residents and visitors to understand but they also have to be fully informative for the Emergency and Fire and Rescue Services. Medway’s Product Specialists have teamed up with Local Authorities, Health and Safety Executives and along with advice from County Fire and Rescue Services and produced a design specification that meets or exceeds the very high standards that these services demand.
